Synonym: Duranta Repens, Duranta Plumieri. A graceful cascading shrub or a pruned and trained small tree, that can grow to 18 feet tall (5.5 meters). Native to Central and South America and the Caribbean. Very showy lavender and white blooms form in tight clusters almost all year long and have light vanilla-like fragrance. Blooming its best in full sun locations. At the same time it produces golden-orange berries in hanging bunches that weigh down the weeping branches. The Foliage is semi-deciduous with lush green shiny leaves that are sometimes toothed. Large established plants will produce thorns.
Attracts a variety of butterflies, bee's, and hummingbirds. Grows best in moist, but well-drained and moderately fertile soil in a container or the ground.
